Swan Hill and Kerang Optical dispense lenses based on your visual requirements, type of prescription and budget.
Whilst optical lenses may look similar, there are significant differences in lens quality and parameters that affect your visual performance, comfort, and UV protection. Everyone’s eyes are different, as are the types of visual tasks we undertake. Having been involved in the industry for close to 20 years, Kristy and Jenalle have researched and sourced a wide range of spectacle lens options to suit every individual’s prescription and the visual requirements of their daily activities.
Choosing the right lens is essential for optimal vision and there are many factors to consider. Swan Hill Optical and Kerang Optical’s team of experienced dispensers are here to educate and guide you to make the decision on which lens type is right for you. Our quality control procedures, and ability to edge and fit lenses in our lab, are unique to the region and an example of a service for our patients that goes above and beyond.
Our major lens partner is Rodenstock, whose high quality lenses, engineered and manufactured in Germany, give you the best vision possible. Rodenstock lenses have superior optics that can be completely customised to an individual, and are guaranteed for 1-2 years against manufacturing defects, including anti-reflective and hard coatings.
However, given we are independent, we are not limited to one supplier and can access lenses from many lens suppliers including those based in Australian, depending on your prescription, visual requirements and budget. Lenses can come in the form of single vision, bifocals, occupational, multifocals and more.
We have partnered with Rodenstock to offer their most premium lens type. Using the revolutionary Rodenstock DNEye Scanner, this unique equipment measures the anatomy of your eye and takes over 7000 biometric measurements. This information flows into your individual lens production. The customised lens is unique to you and offers unparalleled vision including:
All lenses can be coated with various finishes to suit each individual’s needs. The options are varied and can assist those who spend many kilometres in the car, are out in the sun, in front of a screen for long hours, or those with dirty fingers to name a few. Our optical dispensers will guide you through the coating options that will best complement your lifestyle.
Golf, water sports and outdoor activities such as fishing are popular along our rivers and lakes. We recommend polarised lenses that are perfect for our climate and minimise glare off the water. Single vision and multifocal lenses are available.
Tinted lenses in various shades and colours are also available for situations where polarised lenses are not suitable but sun protection is required.
It can be difficult to juggle safety glasses over your regular glasses at work and comply with stringent OHS requirements.
We can provide certified prescription safety glasses to Australian Standard protection, and work regularly with local businesses and industries to assist in meeting OHS requirements and supplying staff with the appropriate safety eyewear.
Available in many styles and customisable in lens type (single vision, bifocal or multifocal) to accommodate your work conditions.
We don’t want reduced vision to compromise sporting performance and enjoyment. We supply a range of speciality prescription glasses including sports googles, swimming goggles, diving masks and shooting lenses.
Our optometrists are experienced in treating children and teenagers to slow down the progression of myopia. We are authorised prescribers of HOYA MiyoSmart spectacle lenses, CooperVision MiSight contact lenses and atropine drops, which are various methods used to manage myopia progression effectively.
We are proficient in fitting patients in contact lenses and offer a range of contact lens options to suit all types of refractive error including myopia (short sightedness) and myopia control, astigmatism and presbyopia (age related reduction in near vision).
Contact lens options include daily soft lenses, monthly soft lenses, multifocal soft lenses for presbyopia (reduced ability to focus up close), and RGPs.
For patients who have optical extras on their private health insurance, we offer on the spot claiming of private health care benefits through HICAPS. We can process your claim directly for either contact lens or spectacle purchases. Rebates can vary greatly depending on who your cover is with, and the level of cover you have.
